15+ White Winter Outfits

There’s an old saying that you “can’t” wear white after Labor Day. And I have a secret to tell you. That’s false! You can in fact wear white after Labor Day, and all year long, for that matter. The winter white color gives your look in instant brightness.

I enjoy wearing light and bright colors the most, and honestly most of my wardrobe is just that – very light and airy. So I love to incorporate white pieces in my looks during each season of the year.

Tips to Fashionably Wear White in the Winter

You can include white into your outfits several different ways. If you don’t have a lot of white pieces that can be worn in the cooler months, start with investing in a piece you can mix and match with several outfits. For example, an outerwear piece like a wool-blend jacket or blazer is something you can wear multiple times a week, if not every day.

Create a White Monochromatic Look

Create a monochromatic look with the same tones, meaning you don’t have to wear white on white. You can wear a white top and cream pants. Though not the same color, you still get that light and bright look.

Add a Pop of White with Shoes

You can add a pop of white with your shoes. It doesn’t just have to be your clothing pieces that are white. White boots are on-trend and a fun way to add brightness to any look. Whether booties or knee-high boots, you’ll be surprised by just how many outfits pair well with white boots.

Pair White with Texture

White looks beautiful with textured pieces like velvet, suede or leather. These three fabrics are perfect to wear in the winter months, and the crisp white pops with these fabrics.

Layer with White Pieces

An easy way to add white to any look is to layer with white pieces. Wear a winter white beanie and layer a white scarf over your coat. This brings a little brightenness around your face even if your outfit isn’t white.

Below are a variety of styled white outfits from business professional to casual and holiday-party ready.

Business Professional Looks with Wide-Leg Pants

A fun way to incorporate white into your workwear wardrobe is to wear a wide-leg white pant. Wide-leg trousers are flattering on a variety of body types and give you that legs-for-days look. These trousers pair well with a blazer and neutral pumps.

There are also plenty of straight-leg options in white if wide-leg pants aren’t your first preference. This cropped tweed blazer has the most gorgeous details with the ruffle sleeves and pockets. It also has pearl buttons, and is the perfect layering piece over the tie-neck blouse.

This is such a pretty and put together look, styling a classic cashmere sweater with crisp white straight-leg jeans. I layered a white cashmere wrap around my neck for extra warmth. Then, I completed the look with my favorite low-profile booties. The pointed toe of the boot elongates the appearance of your legs.

This sherpa and quilted cream coat is one of my favorite recent finds! I love the texture and length, and runs true to size. I’m wearing a size small. If you’re looking for creamy/white leggings, these are comfortable and amazing quality. If you’re between sizes, go down in them. This outfit is the perfect casual weekend look.

This wrap coat is my favorite wool-blend coat. I love that you can tie the waist to give a more structured look. If you’re looking to incorporate a white piece into your wardrobe, this would be a great starter. I love to add a broach to my coat to add a bit of personality and a unique touch.

The next white outfits are these midi sweater dresses. The white sweater dress on the left is a bit more casual, styled with chocolate knee-high boots. White really pops against a dark color and love the color combo of the brown and cream.

The white sweater dress on the right is more elevated, with the slit detail on the side and the tie waist. I paired the dress with crystal-embellished pumps. It’s the perfect look to wear to your next holiday party.

This pleated midi skirt is a whimsical option to wear to a winter baby shower or casual holiday party. I added a brown belt to my waistline to warm up the look and define the waistline. The boots tie in with the belt and give the extra coverage to the legs.

You can easily wear a mini skirt in the winter. Pair the mini skirt with knee-high or over-the-knee boots to add a bit more coverage to your leg. You could also wear tights with the skirt. For those extra cold days, layer a wool coat over the top of your look to keep your legs covered.

This is texture heaven in this look. The faux-feather sleeves of this white button down make such a statement alone. Then pair the shirt with these beautiful velvet black pants, and it’s match made in style heaven. The middle slit on the pants are an on-trend detail that I’ve been loving. I paired crystal-embellished pumps to complete the look. The white really pops against the midnight black, and this would be so fun to wear to a holiday happy hour or New Year’s Eve party.

Two different ways to style these elastic-waist ankle pants. The first is with a cardigan that you can style buttoned up or left undone with a tank or bodysuit layered underneath. The other look is styled with a tie-waist textured cardigan that pairs well with a sleeveless mock neck tank. These two looks make the perfect business casual outfits.

So now we can throw out that myth of only wearing white between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and keep that beautiful color in rotation 365 days a year.
