Hey friends! So excited you’re here to get to know me a little better. I’d love to connect on Instagram, where I share daily life on Instagram stories. Feel free to reach out and say hi.. I’m one of those that actually answers 😉
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I grew up in Woodstock, GA and have lived in GA my whole life. I currently live with my family in a suburb not far from my hometown.
WHAT DID YOU MAJOR IN IN COLLEGE?
I went to Columbus State for two years where I played softball, then moved home and graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science. From there I moved to Savannah, GA where I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Armstrong Atlantic.
HOW TALL ARE YOU?
I’m 5’5” – ALL of my friends and my Mom are super petite, so I think people think I’m a lot taller than I really am. I’m also all legs, so that could be it, too!
HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR HUSBAND TIM?
We met at work at Lifetime Fitness only a few months before I was leaving for PT school. I actually did my interview one week after our first date, so the majority of our relationship was long-distance. It was hard at times, but I really needed that space to focus on school and grow as an individual. I actually knew he was the one pretty much right away. You can get to know us a little more in this Q&A here.
I’m very good at impersonating people and singers. Tim wants to put a hidden camera in the car and start a YouTube channel. But I won’t do it on command, I have to be in the moment lol.
I can stand on my toes like a ballerina
I can cross one eye
I can remember song lyrics like it’s nobody’s business.
I can do a single leg split squat
I’m very flexible and will challenge anyone to a limbo contest.
GO TO NAIL POLISH COLOR?
DO YOU WEAR HAIR EXTENSIONS?
I currently have a single row of NBR extensions for volume. Throughout the years I’ve worn different types of extensions and have a few reviews on them here on the blog.
DO YOU COLOR YOUR HAIR?
I have actually never dyed my hair, it’s 100% natural (minus the matching extensions, of course). It’s actually where I came up with my blog name, Strawberry Chic.
WHAT DO YOU USE TO CURL YOUR HAIR?
I’ve used a T3 convertible curling iron for years. I go through phases depending on what T3 barrel size I want to use. Typically in the summer when it’s humid I use a 1-inch wand and in the winter when my curls hold better I like the 1.25-inch barrel! I also love my Dyson Airwrap.
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT MAKEUP ROUTINE?
This video shared my most current routine.
What do you use to self tan?
I’ve used this tanning butter for almost a year now and I love it! It looks so natural on my skin tone and fades so naturally I only notice when I’,m super pale again lol. I usually add in some of these drops to deepen the color in one application, but you don’t have to if you want more gradual color!
Can I consider eating a hobby?? I’m a huge foodie and love to eat out so it’s hard to pick just one! I like to rotate through my favorite places and always order the same thing at them. The best restaurant experience I’ve ever had is Cafe Monarch in Scottsdale, AZ. Tim and I ate there after our engagement and we visited again during our babymoon.
I’m sure it’s obvious at this point, but I love blush pink! I’ve always loved soft, pastel colors.
WHY DID YOU START YOUR BLOG?
I started Strawberry Chic at the end of 2013 over Christmas break after a very stressful start to Physical Therapy school. I didn’t know what to do with my spare time anymore, and I had contemplated starting one for a few months as a creative distraction from school. I started it with the intention to share workout ideas and cute clothes for a Physical Therapist to wear to work because I cringed at the thought of having to wear khakis and a polo every day. When I started it I honestly didn’t think anyone would ever see it, let alone that I would be doing it now as my career.
WHAT DO YOU DO FULL TIME?
I’m a full-time influencer running this blog, my Youtube channel, and corresponding social media channels. Before I took my business full time, I was an outpatient physical therapist. It’s still crazy to me that I do this full-time, but I’m grateful for my journey to get here and even more thankful for your support in allowing me to do this. You can read about my transition to being a full-time blogger here. If you want to learn more about being an influencer, I’m an open book in my course, The Profitable Influencer.
What advice do you have for someone wanting to start a blog?
I have a ton of blogging tips and resources on my blog, so be sure to browse there if you’re interested in this business! But the biggest step you can take is to just start. Don’t let the fear of judgment or failure stop you from following your dreams.
