I can’t believe we are in the home stretch before we get to meet sweet little Baby J. We are getting both anxious and excited, but mostly just excited! It’s already been a whole month since our babymoon in Arizona. You can check out everything I packed HERE. We took the week to disconnect and enjoy the beauty that is the West! It was truly one of those moments where things come full circle because we were at the same place were Tim proposed. Since it was such a special place in our hearts, we decided to do our maternity pictures while we were there. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out! Part of great maternity pictures is having the perfect dress. I’m sharing a complete roundup of dresses to wear for the prettiest maternity photos. Including the details of exactly what I wore!

When it comes to choosing the right dress for maternity photos I always recommend taking into consideration your background and how you want the photos to feel. Since we were going to be in the desert and I knew the background would be pretty muted, I opted for a white lace gown. I love how the light shines through the tulle. While this dress may or may not be all the way zipped in the back, it sure did make for some pretty photos!

A pro tip from my photographer, try to schedule your photos around the 6-7 month mark. You to be able to see your growing belly, but you don’t want to be so close to your due date that you don’t feel comfortable. This will show in photos and we don’t want that! I was 28 weeks pregnant when these photos were taken.

We decided to do two looks, one with just me and one with me and Tim. For the photos with Tim, I opted for this gorgeous flowy maxi dress. I love the soft floral print and how it blended so well with the green background. When it comes to maternity photos I don’t usually recommend bold patterns or colors. They can be distracting and aren’t always the most flattering in photos.

I also wore this floral dress for my Baby Shower! It’s from Red Dress Boutique circa 2020, so it’s unfortunately not available, but I’ll round up some similar options below! I recently wore it unbuttoned as a kimono during our babymoon in Arizona, here

When thinking about what your partner might wear, my advice is to keep it simple and classic. Tim opted for grey dress pants and a crisp white button-down. If you are wearing a pattern, make sure that your partner is in a solid color! This will help so that your eyes are distracted and know where to land. You could also have in wear nice shorts and a button-down if you are going for a more casual vibe.
