Loeffler Randall Goldy Tall Boot Review

I first bought a pair of Loeffler Randall knee high boots a few years ago, and it was love at first step. I started with the classic black pair, and they quickly became my go-to for everything from casual outings in a sweater dress to dressier date nights. Since then, I’ve added more colors to my wardrobe, including a beautiful espresso shade. The quality and comfort are just as impressive as ever, and I love how effortlessly they fit into my existing wardrobe. Once you experience the perfect blend of style and comfort, it’s hard not to want them in every color!

Material and design: These boots are 100% vachetta leather with a 3.5-inch blocked heel and almond-shaped toe box. They feel soft, but have some stiffness to them so they keep their shape, even when you don’t have them on. They are a pull-on design with no zipper, so they have a wider opening towards the top. I personally love how clean and simple they look compared to other knee high boots on the market!

There can be variations and veining in the leather depending on the color you choose. I don’t notice it at all with my black pair, but both of my brown boots have some variation in the leather from one foot to the other, so I think is important to note!

How IS THE sizing for the Loeffler Randall Goldy Boots?

I personally, find this brand runs more narrow, so I generally size up a half-size in all their styles. Plus, I prefer to go up a half size in boots to accommodate a thicker sock during fall/winter. However, if you have a narrow foot, I recommend getting your normal size. I can be an 8.5 or a 9 depending on the brand and style, and I got a size 9 in these boots.

But are they comfortable to walk in?

In my opinion, I find these boots to be very comfortable for a 3.5 inch heel. I’ve even worn mine in NYC during the holidays. The blocked heel and leather sole make these very easy to walk in. If you’re like me and love a good heel but need something practical for everyday wear, these boots strike the perfect balance.

If you’re looking for a knee high boot with a lower heel, check out the similar Gia Tall Boot with a 2-inch heel. I have this pair in the safari color.

Are these boots waterproof?

No, they aren’t waterproof. The sole is leather, so I wouldn’t recommend wearing them in the rain. However, I will say from experience, I’ve been caught in a few rain storms wearing these and the boots did dry and look just fine afterwards. The top leather feel like it has a waxy coating on it, making them very durable and resistant to scratches.

To keep your boots in tip-top shape, I recommend storing them away from direct sunlight. If you need to clean them up, use a non-darkening leather moisturizer to buff away any scratches and moisturize the leather.

How Much do the Loeffler Randall Goldy Boots Cost?

These knee high boots retail for $695.

do these boots ever go on sale?

Yes! I have purchased all my Loeffler Randall shoes on sale. You can often find them on sale during the holidays directly on Loeffler Randall, but they also get marked down during Shopbop sales, Amazon Prime Day, Tuckernuck, Nordstrom, and Saks. I will warn you though, sizes go very quickly. This brand makes lower quantities to keep their production more sustainable.

Are there any cons to the goldy boots?

Since these are a higher priced item, I was bummed they don’t come with a dustbag for storage. That’s not a deal breaker for me, but it is nice to have when it comes to travel.

How to style the Goldy Tall Boots?

These boots have such a classic style that I have found they go with almost everything! I tend to wear them most with short dresses during fall and longer midi length skirts and dresses during the winter season. I do find they also work with jeans, but I prefer the jeans to be a skinny fit so they tuck in nicely. Here are some recent outfit ideas!
