Feminine and Classic Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Having a capsule wardrobe doesn’t mean you need 15 pairs of pants, 10 pairs of boots and 25 different shirts to create outfits with. The wonderful thing about having a capsule wardrobe for each season is the ability to take one piece of clothing and style it with multiple bottoms or layer with another top to create several outfits with just a few staples.

That way, you don’t have a cramped closet, and only have pieces that you truly love. It saves space and money, and really simplifies your life when it comes down to it.

A great way to extend an outfit is to mix and match layering pieces. This is one of my favorite bodycon midi dresses. It has the perfect mix of compression and stretch that flatters your figure.

Wear the first look to work with knee-high boots and a wrap. Then, if you have a dinner or happy hour to go to after work, trade the wrap for a more edgy jacket like a faux leather moto jacket.

A fun trick to do with a dress is add a sweater over the top to make it look like you have a skirt on with the sweater. To create a more defined waistline, put a skinny belt around your waist and then tuck the ends of the sweater into the belt. I share all my tips on how to tuck in different tops in this video.

The second look would be perfect to wear to brunch with the girls. A floral midi dress with muted colors like this one would work well for a variety of seasons – spring, summer and fall.
