Over the last few months, I’ve really started to focus on eating a cleaner diet. While I was pregnant with Josie, I developed high blood pressure, and it’s kind of hung around throughout postpartum. Though I’m on medicine, I also want to help lower it in more natural ways too like through nutrition and exercise. Because of that, I’ve been in the kitchen a little more, making healthy snacks and of course my daily smoothie. One thing that helps clean eating made easy is my Walmart+ membership.
Thank you to Walmart+ for sponsoring today’s post!
Clean Eating Made Easy
Because I like to be more aware of the ingredients that are in my food, I like to try and prepare more healthy meals and snacks at home. With more cooking, comes the need for more groceries. A Walmart+ membership makes grocery shopping a breeze because you can get your groceries sent straight to your doorstep for free.
With the membership, you get free delivery on groceries and more with a $35 order minimum (restrictions apply, availability dependent on location). Plus the same low prices as in-store (no mark ups or hidden fees). Additionally, members receive free shipping with no order minimum (excludes most Marketplace items, location and freight surcharges) and member prices on fuel.
My Favorite Snack
One of my favorite go-to snacks are these “energy balls” as a healthier option when I want something sweet. I usually double the recipe below because they are a little time-consuming to make when it comes to rolling them into balls. But once they’re made, they’re so delicious and easy to grab. Here’s how to make them:
Healthy Energy Balls
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup old fashioned oats (raw)
2/3 cup toasted, sweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup ground flaxeseed
6 tbsp chocolate chips (I usually eyeball this)
Mix the wet ingredients together then add in the remaining ingredients and mix until evenly coated. Place the mix into the fridge to firm it up a bit (about 25 minutes). Then shape into balls (I use a cookie scoop). They usually break apart initially, but I squeeze and alternate in my hands until they press together into a solid ball. Then store in an airtight container or ziplock bag and keep in the fridge.

Gadgets and Tools For Cooking Made Easy
I love using Sundays as my prep days for the upcoming week. It’s a great day to meal prep, so you have some healthy options to grab when you’re hungry and have little time. Meal prepping is easier with the right tools and kitchen gadgets to prepare and cook your food with.
An airfryer is an easy option to cook vegetables, chicken, potatoes and so much more. This airfryer from Walmart is as chic as it is convenient. It comes in a variety of colors, and I don’t mind leaving it on my counter all the time.
You also want to make sure you have the basics for meal prepping. Things like mixing bowls, measuring spoons and cups are all great basics to keep on hand in the kitchen. You’ll need those for making the energy ball recipe.
If you don’t want to make full-on meals on Sundays but want to get a head start on prepping food for the week, a handy thing to do is chop up your vegetables you’ll need. For example, if you’re having stir fry one night, chop your peppers, broccoli etc. and store in a container until you’re ready to cook them. If you’re doing a lot of chopping, a quality knife set is a must to make it easier.
