I wanted to try on the new Sophia Vagara Jeans at Walmart and I ended up ordering a ton of options to try on and review! I played it safe on sizing so I ordered a size 6 in everything. Most of them worked but there were clear hits and misses from the haul. Scroll to the end to see my favorite and least favorite pairs of Walmart jeans. I rated each jean from 1-10 with 7 being a good, average jean.
Walmart Jean Review
Rating: 8/10
Melisa High Waist Stretch Flare Jean Women’s (Medium) – $27.50
I don’t reach for flared jeans often so it’s nice to save money with a Walmart version. They fit perfectly other than the length, which would require hemming and you would lose the ombre detail. They are a very high rise jean sitting above my belly button. The buttons sit close together so they don’t buckle.
Overall rating 6.5/10
Sofía Skinny Destructed Mid Rise Ankle Jean Women’s (Medium Wash) – $24.50
I love the style of this pair with light distressing and small fraying on the end, a very popular trend for Spring. They bunch a little at my knee and calf. They’re very stretchy so I think I would prefer a 4 because they will stretch with wear. They are a mid rise jean sitting an inch below my belly button. The distressing is very minimal and thicker so you won’t snag your toe as easily when putting them on.
Overall rating: 8.5/10 (with 7 being average)
Sofía Skinny Mid Rise Soft Stretch Ankle Jean Women’s (Medium Wash) – $22.50
If you want the look of AG jeans for less, this is the pair for you. They have a very similar fit, color, and raw hemlines! The length is slightly shorter than I would like once rolled up, which is how I prefer to wear raw hemlines. They sit right below my belly button. This pair fits better than most through my entire leg.
Overall rating: 7.5/10
Melisa High Waist Stretch Flare Jean Women’s (Dark Indigo Wash) – $22.50
I prefer this flared jean because of the simple hemlines. The length is also more doable for me but would still need pretty high heels or hemming.
Overall rating: 7/10
Rosa Curvy High Waist Ankle Jean Women’s (Dark Blue Wash) – $22.50
This pair isn’t cut for my body type. It fits loose throughout the majority of the leg, but would be great for someone with larger calves. They sit right on my belly button and feel roomy in the waistline. I don’t think sizing down would help the fit on my body type. They are stretchy and have a soft comfortable denim blend.
Overall rating: 4.5/10
Rosa Curvy High Waist Ripped Hem Ankle Jean Women’s (Light Blue Wash) – $22.50
I love the high-rise and uniqueness of this jean design with the ankle distressing. They feel a little thicker than the other pairs but still stretchy and comfortable. I could probably size down since they did stretch a little more in the knee with wear. You will need to be careful when putting these on to avoid snagging the distressing. One side is especially thin towards the bottom and will likely end up ripping over time.
Overall rating: 7/10
Rosa Curvy High Waist Ankle Jean Women’s (Medium Blue Wash) – $22.50
The curvy fit doesn’t flatter my shape but would be great for girls with thicker legs. I don’t love the lighter wash over the booty. They fit over my belly button and are almost a mix between a straight and skinny fit at the ankle.
Overall rating: 5/10
Time and Tru Women’s High Rise Sculpted Ankle Jegging (arctic white) – $17.84
This is my favorite find from the haul! White jeans are so hard to find, especially with a lighter jegging fit. They fit perfectly through the leg and aren’t see through with neutral underwear. I also love that they don’t have front pockets because I hate when you can clearly see the lining of pockets. However they aren’t perfect. The top of the zipper doesn’t lay completely flat so you can see a little but of the zipper. There is also a funky seam in the back that causes a little pulling. Watch the video here to see what I mean! They are very high rise so I probably won’t tuck anything into them, so for that reason the few imperfections don’t bother me.
Overall rating: 8.5/10
Time and Tru Women’s Sculpted Jegging in Dark Enzyme – $12.00
I mean for $12 this pair of jeans is a pretty good buy! They aren’t the most comfortable pair and I don’t love the seam along the inside of the leg. They’re longer than most other jeans in this haul. Comparing them to the jeans I already have I know I won’t reach for them, but if you’re low on jeans and want something really affordable these check this pair out.
Overall rating: 6/10
Time and Tru Women’s Full Length Soft Knit Color Jegging – $13.86
This is one of my least favorite pairs of jeans I’ve ever tried, haha! They’re very scratchy textured and look very faux jegging. When you go for a jeggings you typically want something very comfortable! Also, can we talk about those tiny pockets. Tiny pockets always make you butt look 10x larger, not to mention the shape is just awkward.
Overall rating: 4/10
Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Women’s Modern Skinny Jeans in Noir – $19.94
I do prefer a little higher rise jean but they have really good waist control for where they sit on the hips. The material is soft and stretchy and the blend feels inbetween a thinner jegging and structured denim. I don’t think they’re the most flattering for my booty looking back at the pictures. They also felt a little short in the inseam.
Overall rating: 6.5/10
