WHITE JEANS | SIMILAR GRAY SWEATER | LIPCOLOR IN SHADE BERRY
It’s felt like forever since I went into Sephora and splurged on some new beauty items. I’ve tried to use up what I already have and just felt like I’ve been in a makeup rut lately. For a while, I was #teamulta because the reward system is better, but Sephora has its pros for carrying more high-end skin care and exclusive brands I love. Here is what I purchased and a mini review on some of the items I’ve tried so far.
Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Radiance-Perfecting Foundation
I randomly started reading reviews for this foundation online and was impressed a lot of girls with oily skin still raved about it. My skin is very combination and can be anywhere from super dry to oily in a matter of hours. I love a glowy finish, but struggle to find a product that doesn’t break down throughout the day. This product so far has me impressed! The only negative I’ve found so far is that it takes a few pumps to get the coverage I want and need, but it is very buildable.
It Cosmetics CC Cream – Oil Free Matte
I’m a long time fan of the original It Cosmetics CC Cream and I wanted to try the matte version for the warmer months. I do think I love the original more. The matte is a little harder to blend and just looks too flat for me, but if you love a matte finish you will love it! I use a mattifying sunscreen before applying it, so I think it’s just too matte for me.
Vita Liberata Body Blur
Everyone raves about this product to make your skin look more tan and glowy. It’s expensive, but I plan to just use it for more special occasions! I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m interested to see how it compares to the similar Salley Hansen product that I have.
Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder
I’ve had issues with my skin looking too oily towards the end of the day, so I wanted to try this pressed powder so I can keep it in my purse on the go for touch-ups. It really is invisible and doesn’t leave a powdery residue on your skin, but it takes away any shine I have!
Laura Mercier Blush in Ginger
I’ve used the same few blushes for years so I randomly decided to mix it up with this shade in ginger. I love more apricot shades on my skin tone over the typical pinks because my skin tone has a red/pink undertone. This color is pigmented and looks great on fair skin.
Charlotte Tillbury Pillow Talk Lipstick
For years this has been one of the more popular lipsticks on the market, so I finally gave it a try. I think I would like it more during Fall and Winter because it does have a brownish undertone on my fair skin. I love the formula, so I’m going to order some lighter shades to try. I’m pretty picky with lipsticks because my lips are always very dry, but so far this one has worn really nicely on my lips. To make it more wearable for me I dab it on my lips for a lighter wash of color and so far I love it!
Laura Mercier Undereye Brightening Powder
I love watching Makeup By Tiffany D’s new beauty recommendations and she raves about this for under the eye. It’s hard to say if I notice any magic when I apply it, but I do think it helps keep my concealer from creasing throughout the day. It’s very light and fine which is perfect for the undereye area. If you haven’t tried a specific undereye powder to set your concealer, I highly recommend it.
Laura Mercier Radiance Concealer
I was clearly on a Laura Mercier kick during this trip to Sephora. I watched some of the videos from the Mario + Kim K makeup class and he raves about this for under the eye. I think it’s very comparable to Tarte Shape Tape, but a little thicker which makes it feel like it doesn’t move as much.
Benefit Brow Pencil
I’ve been a fan of the Anastasia brow pencil in Blonde for years, but I wanted to change it up and try out this popular pencil. I got the shade 2 since it’s more warm-toned, and it’s darker than I’m used to. I have very light blonde hair, so I have to be careful when applying this but I do love the thicker applicator.
Tom Ford Soleil Glow Drops
I haven’t received this highlighter in the mail yet, but I’ve really excited to try it after reading rave reviews. I think it will also be really pretty on the collarbone and to highlight your legs! It’s sold out everywhere but here.
