If there’s one bag that’s been with me through TSA lines, weekend getaways, and quick car trips—it’s my MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote. I’ve carried this tote for years now, and it’s hands-down my most-reached-for travel bag. It checks all the boxes: lightweight, stylish, holds everything, and is so comfortable to carry. Whether I’m heading to the airport or packing the car for a girls’ trip, this tote always comes with me.
My Favorite Travel Bag: The MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Review

Why I Love It
1. It’s practically weightless.
I can’t stand when an empty bag already feels heavy—especially for travel. The MZ Wallace tote is made of quilted nylon, so it’s feather-light. Even when it’s fully packed, it doesn’t dig into my shoulder or feel like a burden. The padded handles make a huge difference when you’re walking through a terminal or juggling your carry-on and coffee.
2. It holds everything.
This is the Mary Poppins of bags. I’ve packed a laptop, change of clothes, full-size toiletries, snacks, and even my toddler’s must-haves in here. It has a roomy interior and comes with multiple detachable pouches, which help keep things organized – though I do prefer my own pink pouches 🙂 I usually use one for beauty products, one for tech accessories, and one for snacks or small toys if I’m traveling with my little one.
If you’re wondering what I usually pack in mine for airport travel, I shared a video on Instagram here!
3. It’s low-maintenance and wipeable.
Travel can get messy—coffee spills, toddler hands, you name it. The nylon material is easy to clean, and it still looks brand new after years of wear. I did get the black to conceal any dirt or marks since I always store this under the seat in front of me when traveling on a plane.
4. It fits under the seat.
Yes, even the large size! If you’re flying, this tote fits perfectly under the airplane seat in front of you. I love that I can have all my essentials within reach without digging through the overhead bin. That’s a major pro for this bag given how slouchy it is.
5. It looks chic without trying too hard.
This is probably the only bag I own that’s both totally practical and still feels put-together. The quilting adds that little luxe touch, and the design is minimal enough to work with any outfit—from leggings and sneakers to a more polished airport look. I’ve even carried it as a gym bag or oversized purse when I’ve had a full day out with my toddler.

What to Know Before You Buy
- It is a big bag—so if you’re petite or don’t need to carry much, consider the medium size. I like to have all the room I can get when it comes to travel, so the large was an easy choice for me.
- It doesn’t have a rigid shape, which I personally love because it molds to your body and fits in tight spaces. But if you prefer a structured tote, that’s something to keep in mind. I definitely recommend the use of pouches to make it easier to find things and stay organized.
- The price point is higher than your typical nylon tote, but I can say with confidence it’s been worth every penny for me based on how much I use it and how well it’s held up over the years.
Final Thoughts
If you’re in the market for a travel bag that can keep up with you—and still look chic doing it—the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote is it. It’s been a staple in my travel lineup for years now, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I love that it’s stylish but doesn’t scream “designer bag,” and it truly makes travel feel a little more seamless.
