I’ve been a fan of the Tory Burch Miller sandals for years. They are by far one of my most worn pair of shoes that I reach for year after year. In fact, I own three colors! I did a full review of the sandal here along with the many ways to style them. But today, we’re going to talk about the newest Miller on the block – the Tory Burch Miller Cloud.
When I first saw these online, it wasn’t really love at first sight. After all, the original Miller sandal has been my ride of die for years, and I didn’t think anything could replace them. They have a very orthotic look to them online, and I’m not usually a fan of chunky styled shoes that draw a lot of attention to my feet. However, I’m currently pregnant, so I was curious is the new Miller Cloud would be a better option for me this Summer.
I purchased the new ivory color, which I thought fit my light and airy wardrobe best. But they currently have 7 color options: blue, black, tan, red, yellow, ivory, and burnt cuoio.
Do You Need the Tory Burch Miller Cloud Sandals?? Detailed Review!
How comfortable are the miller cloud sandals?
I was very pleased with how comfortable these sandals are right out of the box. I took them on a weekend trip to Savannah recently, and had no complains as we walked around all afternoon. There was substantial arch support, and my back wasn’t achy or anything by the end of the day, which has been a somewhat common theme during my pregnancy if I’m on my feet for a while.
Do the sandals run big?
These run a tad bit bigger than the original miller sandals, which I usually have to size up in. So I recommend getting your normal size, and if you have a narrow foot size down. My foot has grown a little bit during pregnancy and I got an 8.5 and they fit perfectly with a little extra room at the toe.
How do the sandals compare to the original Tory Burch Miller sandal?
When the shoe is on, they have a very similar look, with the biggest difference being the sole of the cloud is much thicker. Here are the biggest differences between the two sandals:
- Best for a narrow foot
- Minimal and sleek on the foot
- run smaller – I usually size up a half size
- Wider color range
- Leather variations (patent leather vs leather)
- The patent option is more durable
- May need a little breaking in depending on leather type
- $228 (when I purchased they were $198)
- fits a regular to slightly wide foot better
- molded footbed in a soft leather
- arch support
- thicker foam sole for more standing comfort
- Heavier than original (though still lightweight)
- run slightly bigger
- noisier – makes a squishy noise when I walk
- No break-in needed
WEAR UPDATE: I’ve had these for just under a month and wanted to update you on the wear and tear! As expected, the leather has not held up as well and has started to rub away from the foam sole in areas like the heel and toe. If you’re looking for a sandal that will hold up for years, this isn’t the pair for you and I would 100% recommend going with the original Miller sandal instead. You can see the wear and tear on Instagram (@strawberrychicxo) saved to my miller cloud highlight here. I’m still personally happy with the purchase since they are much more supportive for my pregnant feet, but I wanted to give you a heads up so you know what you’re investing in!
Where to buy the Miller Cloud?
Since they are a new exciting release, sizing and color options are pretty limited right now, but they should restock soon! I always love shopping at Nordstrom, especially for shoes because they have such a lenient return policy should anything go wrong, but you can also find them direct at Tory Burch, or other departments such as Bloomingdales, Shopbop, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Depending on the color you’re looking for, hopefully you can find your size in stock at one of these retailers!
How to style
Just like the original Miller sandals, these are very versatile to style, especially if you get them in a neutral color. Here are a few recent looks wearing the ivory color. My go to way to style these are with dresses throughout Spring and Summer.
You can see them on video and styled in my latest try on haul on Youtube, here!
My one concern with the material of this shoe is discoloration, especially since I got the light ivory color and love self tanner 🙂 I’ll keep you posted if I notice anything! But I’m pretty confident a magic eraser will clean them up if anything happens. I also want to mention they do make a light sticking sound when walking, potentially the leather and foam suctioning together or something. If you pronate, you may have more of a noise issue coming from the arch area, but a viewer who did have that issue places a subtle arch support insole which took care of it, and made them even more comfortable! It does seem like the noises have calmed down since initially wearing them, too.
Do they ever go on sale?
Tory Burch is known to have a lot of exclusions during their sales. You can sometimes get lucky and find the neutral Tory Burch Miller sandals on sale, but sizing always flies off the shelves. Since these are a brand new release, I would be very surprised to see the Cloud Miller included in any upcoming promotions, but you never know!
