Labor Day weekend is one of the best times to shop for transitional wardrobe staples because retailers are discounting both end-of-summer pieces and new styles you can wear into fall. That said, not every sale is worth sorting through! I’ve narrowed it down to the promotions I think are actually worth checking out, with a focus on wearable fall fashion, everyday basics and pieces you’ll get plenty of use from.

If you only shop one sale, I would start with LOFT. Their current promotion is one of the strongest discounts of the weekend, and it includes plenty of transitional pieces you can start wearing now. I would look for lightweight sweaters, feminine blouses, workwear and dresses that can be styled with sandals now and boots later.

The SPANX sale is the one I would shop for tried-and-true wardrobe staples rather than trendy pieces. I especially recommend checking the AirEssentials collection, their smoothing pants and denim, and the booty boost leggings.
