Instead, use this as an opportunity to pivot your content and improve your application for the next time.
If you’re an influencer hoping to get accepted into rewardStyle, this post will go into detail on how you can strengthen your application and get approved to become a rewardStyle influencer.
Reward Style is a network for bloggers to learn strategies, grow their business, work with brands, and earn a commission with the content they share. I talk about all the nitty-gritty on how affiliate commission with Reward Style and LIKEtoKNOW.it works, so be sure to check that out if you want more information.
Before we get into it, I want to clarify that in order to become a LIKEtoKNOW.it influencer, you have to be accepted into rewardStyle. The LIKEtoKNOW.it app is powered by rewardStyle, so they go hand in hand. Once you’re approved by rewardStyle, you can start using LIKEtoKNOW.it as an influencer.
So let’s dive into how to get accepted into rewardStyle. The following suggestions come straight from the rewardStyle team, so this is exactly what they’re looking at when reviewing your application.
How to get accepted to Reward Style:
These are the three biggest areas the rewardStyle team is looking at when reviewing your application. Now only are these important to get accepted into Reward Style and start using LIKEtoKNOW.it as an influencer, but these are also important to maintain to have a successful growing influencer business.
Post good content
This probably seems obvious, but the content you put out is the first impression anyone will have with your brand. So this tip can relate to all things influencer marketing – quality content will drive your business forward. So what type of “good quality content” are they looking for?
Quality content doesn’t always mean you have to have professional photos and a perfect Instagram feed. They are looking to see your content is clear (aka not blurry) and showcases content you could link once accepted into rewardStyle. This could be mirror selfies, flat lays, collages, posed photos, photos of your home, etc.
That also means, your Instagram shouldn’t look like a personal account. Meaning photos of your pets, boyfriend, friends, family, etc shouldn’t be the primary focus of your page when they go to review your profile. Your content should also be your own, original content. Sharing stocked images from websites or other bloggers, won’t get you accepted into the program.
Post consistently
Reward Style wants to see that you’re able to produce good content regularly. They will look at the time between each post, so if weeks or months go by between each post, work on improving your consistency. They want to see some history with your content so don’t apply until you have an established posting schedule. I use Planoly to schedule out posts for my Instagram so I stay consistent. It also helps you figure out a good layout for your feed if you want a more consistent Instagram theme.
Reward Style recommends having 3-4 months of consistent content before applying to rewardStyle.
Engagement
They will look at your engagement to see if it’s healthy, meaning you haven’t purchased followers or likes to inflate your numbers. This is pretty easy to see when checking the accounts that follow you or like your posts. Don’t stress over your engagement rates if you think they’re low, they are just looking for authentic interactions versus inflated/fake percentages.
How many followers do you need for LIKEtoKNOW.it?
Engagement is way more important than the number of Instagram followers you have. This vanity metric has always seemed more important than it actually is in my opinion. Someone can have a ton of followers (real or fake) but if they don’t care about your content that will show, because you won’t have any sales or genuine comments in your posts. And you can’t grow an actual business with a community that isn’t interested in your business. I share my tips on how to grow an engaged Instagram following here.
So there is no special number of Instagram followers you need to get approved by rewardStyle. They are looking at your intentions to grow with them and the quality of your content.
rewardStyle Application Tips
- Make sure to double-check your handles, website, and email is all spelled correctly. They won’t be able to review your application if it’s misspelled or email you if you’ve been accepted or denied.
- If you have a friend that’s already using rewardStyle, you can ask them to refer you to the platform.
- You just need a strong application for the platform you plan to use primarily, whether that’s Youtube, a blog, Instagram, or Facebook account. That means you don’t have to have a blog to be a rewardStyle influencer. Though I highly recommend having one at some point 🙂
