Fall is officially here! In celebration, I recently posted a YouTube video with a massive try-on haul featuring the best fall outfits for work. With the changing of the season, I love incorporating more warmer tones, pretty textures and layering pieces into my wardrobe. That’s exactly what this post includes. I also included several different brands with varying price points. I know some offices are slowly starting to pick back up, and now is a great time to refresh your workwear wardrobe. There’s something about trendy workwear looks that give you that added boost of confidence and enhances your productivity, so you can tackle each workday with your best self.

Best Fall Outfits for Work
Fall Trench Coat with Black Ankle Pants
10% off at Spanx with code AMANDAJOHNxSPANX
This whole look makes the cutest fall work outfit. This striped basic tee is a great quality shirt, and almost has a thermal-type material. It’s stretchy and not tight-fitting. I’m wearing my true size small.
This light cream trench coat is a great fall jacket staple. It’s thicker than most other trench coats I’ve tried in the past, and it’s also very stretchy. This coat will definitely keep you warm all fall long while also repelling water. The tie waist helps accentuate your waist and creates a more tailored fit. However, if you’d rather not tie them, I recently did a reel, showing how I knot the ties. This coat comes in a few other colors as well. If you want to wear it closed, I would size up!
The ankle pants from Spanx are one of my most worn and recommended work pants ever. They’re stretchy, sophisticated and hold their shape. I wear a size medium, and they come in sizes XS to 3X. They also have petite, regular and tall inseam lengths to get that perfect fit. They have no buttons on them, so they make a great pant to wear for desk jobs.

High-Rise Skinny Ankle Pants with Blouse
Both looks include these affordable tan gingham work pants from Target. I’ve styled these on my blog and YouTube channel for many years, but I always like seeing the different prints and colors Target comes out with each year. And these were a new addition this year, and thought they were the perfect cute fall work pant. They’re very stretchy throughout. I’m wearing a size 6, which is my normal size for pants.
The first look looks and feels very classic. I love the ruffle details around the neck, and think wearing your hair up in a low bun would look so chic. I paired the look with neutral loafers that are a great workwear-staple shoe.
The second look features a scalloped flutter sleeve blouse. The sleeves have a good bit of volume, but lay nicely so they aren’t overpowering but give a nice feminine detail. I’m wearing the color “pecan” and really like how warm it looks. The length of this shirt works well with it untucked, when pairing with pants like these. Or you could tuck it in with trousers or a pencil skirt too. Both of these looks would be great for working from home because they’re chic yet comfortable. If you have to travel for work, this would also be a great outfit to go from the plane straight to business meetings.

Midi Skirt with a Basic Tee
This pleated midi skirt has a gorgeous leopard print, which is a great fall print to have in rotation. I paired it with a basic tunic shirt that I knotted and met with the top of the skirt. You could also wear a bodysuit underneath or wear a dressier shirt like the scalloped blouse we talked about earlier and just tuck it in. I finished the look with these white loafers. You could also pair neutral booties or flats with this look. This would be a great work outfit for teachers.

Classic Cardigan with a Bodysuit
10% off at Spanx with code AMANDAJOHNxSPANX
The first cardigan is a pretty peachy-nude color, but doesn’t wash my fair skin tone out. It’s a thicker material with a beautiful eyelet detail throughout, and I love the tie at the waist. It gives the cardigan a dressier look. I paired it with a basic white bodysuit, and the Spanx ankle pants.
The other peach cardigan is another high-quality cardigan option that has a heavy and luxurious material. It runs a bit big. I’m wearing my normal size small in this one. But if you wanted a closer fit, I’d suggest sizing down one. It also comes in four other colors. I finished the look with my favorite work flats. Both of these looks would be great options for those working from home, an office manager, teacher or if you’re traveling for work.

Ruana with Ankle Pants
10% off at Spanx with code AMANDAJOHNxSPANX
The ruana is one of my favorite layering pieces for the fall season. It’s a cashmere material, and can wear it over most anything no matter the sleeve situation. The pants are from Spanx. These are the Perfect Ankle Pants from Spanx but with a white stripe-detail down the side. It also has additional zipper pockets at the top. The white stripe gives it a fun, edgy vibe and feels very trendy. I finished the look with these braided heels. These are very on-trend for the fall 2021 season. The heel is the perfect height, and can be worn with ankle pants, skirts or dresses. The deeper brown color is great for the fall to style with a variety of looks.

White Blazer with Ankle Pants
This white blazer makes an appearance in most of my workwear posts. I’ve had this for over a year, and this particular blazer converted me into a blazer lover. Before I found this one, I wasn’t a huge fan of them. This one has a great stretch to it and fits well in the arms. I’m wearing a size small and think it runs true to size. It’s a boyfriend cut, but isn’t too oversized or boxy.
I styled the blazer with two different ankle pant looks. But you could also pair this with a fitted shift dress or a flowy maxi skirt for the work place. If your workplace requires business professional attire, this would be a great staple to have in your workwear wardrobe.

Gingham Top with Black Ankle Pants
10% off at Spanx with code AMANDAJOHNxSPANX
This business casual look is a great fall outfit option to wear to work. This gingham peplum top can be dressed up or down. Here I have it styled with the Spanx ankle pants, and mules. But you could also style it with a wide-leg trouser and pumps for more of a business look. The brown gingham print is a perfect for fall, and love that you can wear it on the weekends too with denim jeans and booties.

Elevated Jogger Pants
I’m really like these pants because they’re actually listed as a jogger. But because of their material, they can be dressed up for work. They’re almost like a scuba suit material. These are a great work-from-home option as well. I’m wearing a medium, and they hit right at my ankle when I’m wearing heels. So if you’re more petite, then these might need to be tailored. In the first picture, I paired the joggers with a plaid blazer. I love plaid blazers for the fall because of their color and texture. I finished the look with braided sandals.
With the second look, I’m wearing a simple black bodysuit, and finished the look with neutral loafers. If you’re in and out of your car throughout the day, these joggers would be great to wear because of their comfort. Let me know what you think of these pants!
