Let’s chat sunscreen! If you haven’t heard, it’s kind of important to wear sunscreen every day. Not only is it your first defense against signs of aging (brown spots, wrinkles, skin texture), but it’s also protecting you from skin cancer. Don’t let the fear of breakouts now prevent you from protecting your skin in the long run.
Here are my two favorite sunscreens that don’t break me out or ruin my faux tan. It’s also important to note that these sunscreens are cruelty-free, as well as reef-friendly, paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, oxybenzone-free, and fragrance-free.

Favorite face sunscreen
I’ve used the Supergoop Unseen sunscreen for almost a year. The texture is more like a primer, so it doesn’t get shiny or oily throughout the day. It also doesn’t cause any flashback in photos! I’m wearing it under my makeup in the look above. I love this sunscreen because it’s oil-free to prevent breakouts and helps smooth the appearance of pores under my makeup.
favorite body sunscreen
I’ve used Coola sunscreen for years. I made the switch to organic sunscreen after having a bad reaction to sunscreens that use oxybenzone. I ended up with a heat rash that looks like broken capillaries on my legs. Plus, I’ve read more and more about the importance of avoiding this ingredient in sunscreens. I also always choose fragrance-free formulas over pretty scents when I can. They also make a mineral sunscreen version as well.
I spray tan often, especially if I’m in the sun, so I don’t want a sunscreen that’s going to peel it off. Every spray tan place I’ve visited has always recommended Coola products to maintain your tan. If you have a spray tan, make sure to avoid aerosol sunscreens.
I’m sure Supergoop also makes a great body sunscreen, I just haven’t personally tried it myself yet! I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these brands. You can pick up both of these products from Nordstrom. It’s my shopping go-to because they have everything from clothes, to beauty, to skincare and everything ships free. Since we’re talking about sunscreen, I also wanted to take the time to remind you to get a yearly skin check. It’s important to have a professional look at your skin every year to catch anything suspicious early. It always gives me peace of mind after checking in with my dermatologist each year. I’ve had many close calls with abnormal biopsies, but I’d rather have a small scar than have something turn into cancer. If you haven’t yet, schedule your skin check today! xoxo
