Every now and then I like to venture out of my style comfort zone and try something new. Recently, I tried out the sweater midi skirt trend and quickly realized how versatile they can be in your wardrobe. So today I wanted to share some outfit inspiration on how to style the sweater skirt.

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring today’s post

How to Style a Sweater Midi Skirt

3 Ways to style a sweater midi skirt

Style it casually with a graphic tee

If you want to dress a casually, you can wear a graphic tee with a faux front knot (see my hack on how to do this here) and pair it with white sneakers. Depending on the temperature, you can layer a casual cardigan or a cute cropped puff jacket.

Dress it up with a blazer

To dress it up for work, style a blazer and white blouse with a neutral pump. I love a plaid blazer lately, which will give the look a little more interest!

Pair it with a sweater and boots

How to Style a Sweater Midi Skirt

My personal favorite way to style a sweater midi skirt is pairing a slouchy sweater with booties. I picked up this sweater from Chelsea 28 earlier in the season and I’ve already worn it multiple times. It’s probably the softest sweater I own but still looks really nice.

tucking hack: tuck the bottom of your sweater into your bra for the perfect faux tuck that won’t bulk up your waist.

This olive sweater skirt from Halogen is very figure flattering. It doesn’t add any bulk through the hips and is made with a super soft material. With the earthy tones in this outfit, the snake print booties paired perfectly while adding some interest to the outfit.

Some of my most shopped brands at Nordstrom are actually Nordstrom Made, including Halogen, Leith, and BP. A few items you’ve seen my style over and over include this stripe long sleeve top, this lace cami (on sale!), and this dolman sleeve cardigan.
