Breaking them in: Like any new designer shoe, they are a little stiff initially. I personally didn’t find them to be uncomfortable or give me any blisters out of the box, but I have heard others say they’re uncomfortable until you break them in.

The shoe has a leather sole, so if you want added protection you can take them to a cobbler before wear. I personally didn’t do that, because it’s always an option to replace it down the road when need be.

FYI: They will crease after the initial wear. If that will bother you, this isn’t the shoe for you. I’ve heard this is less noticeable with the darker shades

Gucci Princetown Loafer Sizing

It’s best to try them on before purchasing, but if you can’t or if you’re confident with your designer shoe size go ahead and order online. Double-check the return/exchange policy just in case. Gucci recommends to size up a half size in this shoe.

I usually need a half size larger in designer shoes for whatever reason. I sized up to the 39 in the loafer for the perfect fit, which is a full size up from what I would consider my “normal” with more affordable shoe brands. I have a high arch and found my foot wasn’t able to slide into the shoe all the way due to the buckle across the top. I needed extra room on the end to accommodate that. It felt a little weird at first, but now I don’t even notice it.

If you have a very shallow, narrow foot you will probably be ok with your normal size.

How to Style the Gucci Loafer

The reason I love this style is because it’s very versatile. I mostly pair them with casual jeans, but you can dress them up for work or down with leggings. They’re easy to slip on and run out the door. I recently styled this in this Target try on haul.

Before the Princetown loafer is open in the back, it’s not ideal for cold weather. I wear these once it starts warming up a bit in the Spring through Fall in the South.

Are they worth it??

Like any designer purchase, that answer is subjective to your lifestyle and preference. Before purchasing anything, consider the cost per wear of the item. If you can see yourself wearing these enough times to justify the cost, then it’s worth it!

Where do you buy Gucci loafers?

There are a lot of retailers that carry the Gucci loafers. You can find most of the classic color options at all of them, but some offer specific unique prints. I do like the special packaging you get when ordering straight from Gucci. If you can’t try them on, I would order from a store that makes returns easy, like Nordstrom.
