You heard it first here, spring is for sure my favorite season. I mean, if we’re being honest I basically wear a spring color palette all year long as my signature Strawberry Chic look, so having a season filled with pastels and florals is basically my happy place. But aside from that, spring is always filled with so many fun occasions. From baby showers to brunches, there as so many reasons to get dressed up. Plus it’s the start of wedding season, which means showers, dinners, and parties galore! This year, I’ll be dressing the growing belly, so I’m excited to include some bump-friendly options in this complete roundup of dresses for all of spring’s occasions!

Spring weddings are some of the most beautiful weddings that I’ve been to. However, here in the south they can get warm. Take into consideration the month and time of day when selecting your wedding guest dress. You want something that is going to be comfortable, flattering and that will move well on the dance floor. I always gravitate towards a midi-length dress for weddings. They are chic without being over the top! Add some gold jewelry, a nude heel and a quilted bag to complete the look. I also did a roundup of wedding guest dresses in this post HERE, broken down by dress code.

Spring and fall are two of the best times to get your family photos taken. With spring, you can catch the first buds of the season in the background of your photos. While in the fall, you get the beautiful changing leaves. For spring photo sessions, I like to wear a midi or maxi length dress in a solid, neutral color. I also really like to wear a pastel-colored floral dress. But recommend balancing out the print of the floral dress with the your other family members by having them wear more solid colors. You don’t want each person to have different patterns on their shirts, or the photo might look too busy.

baby shower dresses

For a baby shower dress, you can be a little more casual. I suggest a soft color pallet and sweet florals. If you know the gender, you can always wear pink or blue, but don’t feel like you have to! If the shower is more casual, grab an above-the-knee dress. If it’s slightly more formal, grab you midi-length dress and pair it with heels to give it a more elevated feel.

Whether you’re attending a graduation or other special occasion, there are many versatile dresses you can wear to milestone events. If you’re the graduate, I like to avoid maxi dresses, so there’s no chance I’d trip up the stairs on the way to get my hard-earned diploma. The top two dresses would be perfect to wear. If you’re attending a graduation as a family member/friend to the graduate, the length really doesn’t matter as long as you dress appropriately for the place it will be held. I’ve seen graduations held outside or inside. If it’s held outside, make sure to know about what the temps will be and plan your dress around that.

For those more casual days of spring, I love wearing a dress with a pair of casual slides. Whether you’re headed out to brunch, going on vacation or other casual outings, these dresses would be perfect to wear. In addition to wearing a casual slide with your dress, I like to pair a canvas tote or straw bag to complete the look.

bump friendly dresses

As we move into spring and baby J continues to grow, my plan is to stick with my normal clothing, sizing up when necessary. I love the idea of having a mixture of both loose fitting dresses and form fitting ones. This allows me to show off the bump in a flattering way, but also have some comfortable options depending on how I’m feeling. If you have maternity photos coming up, I did a roundup of dresses specifically for that found HERE.
