Summer, with its warm weather and longer days, is undeniably one of the best times of the year to be a mom! The summer season quickly fills up with exciting outdoor adventures, quality family time, and memories waiting to be made. Because school is out, our routines tend to become more relaxed, but there can still be so much to do and keep up with. You might be heading out for a vacation, sending kiddos off to day camps, sports camps, or overnight camps, meeting up with friends for pool days or park days, or juggling a little of everything. No matter what your plans are this summer, having a few essential summer items can help make your summer experience fun, safe, and comfortable for you and your kids. So today, I’m sharing a round-up of 5 summer essentials for moms to help you and your little ones experience summer to the fullest. Let’s jump in!

Staying hydrated is vital to thriving in the summer heat, and having a trusted water bottle on hand is certainly essential for both moms and kids! Constantly having water on hand can help you ensure that everyone stays happy, healthy, and energized during outdoor adventures, especially in the summer sun. Even if you’re headed to the pool or the beach, you’ll still want to stay plenty hydrated. My tried and true favorite water bottle is the 40oz Stanley cup because it keeps my water cold for a long time, the large size means I don’t need to fill it up quite as often, and I find that having a large straw helps me drink more water. Of course, your kiddos might be coming to you and your water bottle for frequent sips of water, but if you can manage to find them a water bottle that they love, they might just want to keep up with it themselves and drink lots of water, too!
Bonus tip: Add these electrolytes to your water in the morning for extra hydration!

Sun Protection
Summer goes hand in hand with spending extended time under the sun’s rays, making sun protection a top essential for moms and their kids. A wide-brimmed hat can provide a good amount of shade for your face for those days when you know you’ll be out in the sun for a long time. Pair them with sunglasses to protect your eyes, too. And most importantly, don’t forget the sunscreen! Choose a high-quality sunscreen for yourself and your kids, and be sure to reapply frequently. Look for broad-spectrum formulas with high SPF and water-resistant properties. Regular application and reapplication will keep you covered and hopefully keep you and your little ones from getting a bad sunburn. A painful sunburn is a quick way to put a damper on a vacation, a summer camp, or even just the day, so be sure to stay protected from a burn as much as you can!

Outdoor Water Toys
For the kids that love to be outside, try incorporating outdoor water toys like a water table or reusable water balloons into your summer routine. Outdoor water toys like a water table can help you cool down and take outdoor summer activities to the next level. They provide interactive play spaces for sensory exploration and creating mini water worlds with pouring, splashing, and floating activities. Reusable water balloons offer an eco-friendly alternative to single-use ones, guaranteeing hours of excitement without the hassle of cleanup. The best part about reusable water balloons is that your kids can fill them up again all on their own! No pesky water balloon tieing is needed.
