I do a lot of traveling back and forth between school in Savannah and boyfriend/family in Atlanta. Luckily, I have this Dior makeup case (gifted from the Dior Diva program) that has lasted a few years now. I previously used a traditional makeup bag, but I love how this one has a spot for my brushes and has a hard shell to protect everything (no accidental squeezing going on). Usually it’s much more organized when initially packing, but these photos were taken once I got back to Savannah, so everything just gets thrown in the second time around 😉
On the top portion I keep flatter items such as eyeliners and lip products. I always like to travel with clean make-up brushes so I can save room (I use the MAC cleaner for quick cleans and baby shampoo for deeper cleaning). I somehow managed to forget my liquid eyeliner (so not ok for an avid cat-eye girl) but Tim picked me up a drugstore version because he’s the sweetest. We may or may not have face timed during the crucial selection.
I’ve been loving this Elf lip exfoliator (plus you can’t beat the price tag) but it’s definitely on the harsher side of lip scrubs that I’ve tried so keep that in mind!
Other items pictured: rose gold eyelash curler, MAC limited edition lipgloss (not available), Elf lip exfoliator, NARS lipstick in cruising, NYX HD concealer, currently sampling Clinique mascara from a Sephora Lash Stash, MAC eyeshadow in Omega (for eyebrows), Anastasia eyebrows pencil in caramel, MAC paint pot in painterly (used for years), Stila eyeliner for waterline, and NARS lipgloss in turkish delight (love).
On the bottom of the case, I always start with my eyeshadow palette (it’s hard to see because it’s black underneath- but I plan to do a post on it next week!) I’ve been using the Makeup Forever HD foundation for a year now (it refuses to run out but I’m not complaining) and I definitely recommend it. I used it on my cousin for her wedding and she loved it enough to purchase it herself. It’s very light weight and looks and feels like skin once blended.
I picked up a new beauty blender from Amazon, and although I’m not certain it’s authentic, it does the job (I use my hands for everyday at school but the sponge on weekends or when I’m actually getting ready.. if that makes sense). I don’t always use the Dior lash primer, but since we were celebrating Tim’s birthday I made sure to bring it. I like that it keeps my lashes soft and separated unlike other primers, plus it claims to add in growth properties so that’s always a bonus! Lastly, it may seem like a silly product, but the Clinique bottom lash mascara is worth every penny (10$). I’ve always had a problem with my mascara transferring onto my cheek, but this has never done that. Also, the brush is teeny tiny adorable. For some reason I’ve stored it in the box so it’s easier to see.
Other items included: Nars laguna bronzer and deep throat blush (both well loved), Duo lash glue, Benefit high beam, Hourglass ambient lighting powder in diffused light, Bare Minerals foundation, and Tarte amazonian clay blush in exposed (it’s guaranteed to give you cheekbones!), Tarte Mascara (used individual lashes so I didn’t use this, but it creates much more dramatic lashes than the Clinique)
