I’m so glad y’all enjoyed my post on the Overrated Products from the NSALE! Today I’m sharing some of the items I tried on in-store or bought from the sale along with a mini review of each item. I found a few more items that dissapointed me, so I’ll be sure to point those out in this post! I added my YouTube try on haul to the end of this post and shared a little more detail on each item.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul + Try On Review

JEANS: I’m wearing a size 28 which is my normal size in jeans. If you’re in between sizes I would size down in them. They are really stretchy and comfortable, but with that comes a little more movement in the pants overall. I know I will be pulling these up over my waist from time to time. I really love the color of them and the detail at the ankle. I want to search for a dupe before I decide if I want to keep them, and this is another similar jean in the sale that is a little more affordable.
CARDIGAN: This years version of the BP cardigan is a little more feminine compared to last years. It’s very similar to the shape of the Leith cardigan but is $14 cheaper, so depending on the price you’re comfortable with you don’t need both! The Leith cardigan is a little softer and lightweight (keep scrolling to see it on). If you want this one to wear more fitted, size down. If you want it to wrap around you towards the front more get your normal size. I’m wearing an XS here.
SCARF: Not much to review here. Sole Society makes great lightweight and flowy scarves.
TOP: This tee isn’t in the sale this year. Size down in most Calson items!

SWEATER: I raved about this sweater in my last post. It’s a great basic and long enough to wear with leggings. It’s not a typical itchy and overly warm sweater. I’m wearing a small.
JEANS: I bought these AG jeans last year in the sale and they still feel snug and new after a year of wear. They fit true to size and never stretch out on me.
SHOES: I thought I would love these because I love a bow detail, but I’m actually returning them because they’re a little too loud for my style. I love small doses of leopard, but something about the bow and pointed toe just doesn’t feel like me. I did order the halogen pair for a more classic look, plus they were $20 cheaper. I will let you know my thoughts on them when I picked them up tomorrow! I typically go up a half-size in mules.

GOAL DIGGER SWEATSHIRT: I’m returning this because I don’t need it, but it’s a comfy item to wear for only $25 if you’re looking for something like it! Size up at least a full size, but I went up two by ordering a large.
Shorts aren’t in the sale but you can shop them here. Size down! I’m wearing a 27.

J. Crew Blazer:Â If you need a blazer for work this one is definitely more comfortable than any blazer I’ve owned! I love the pink but if you need a neutral color it comes in gray, black, and navy. I’m not really a blazer-wearing girl but I love the idea of dressing this one down with shorts and jeans. I dressed it down with shorts in the try on video below. I’m wearing my normal size 4. If you want it more structured and fitted order one size down.
AG Jeans: This is my pair from last years sale. They still fit me like they’re brand new and have washed and worn so well over the last year. They run true to size. I’m wearing a 28.
Shoes: Not in the sale but I recommend these over the Tory Burch flats in the sale!

BP Tee: $12. I would pick up at least one! I’m size up to a medium for a casual fit.
AG Jeans: Wearing size 28. Again these still look and feel new after owning them for a year!
Booties: These are my favorite booties from last years sale. You can shop a similar pair in the sale here.
NSALE Fitting Room Fails

Madewell Jeans: Madewell makes great jeans. These were soft and just stretchy enough without losing their shape. I always size down a size in Madewell, and the 27 fit me well. I could have gone without the 4th button on these. I have a shorter torso so they felt too tall on my waist to feel comfortable so I didn’t buy them.
Calson Military Jacket: The regular small was too large for me. Here, I’m wearing the XS petite and it fit me better except for the short arm length. I like the feminine silhouette of this jacket, but the material was a bit stiff so it feels no different from a jacket you can get from Old Navy. The online reviews say it runs small but I found it to fit large except in the arms.

I talked about these two items in my Overhyped Products From the NSALE post. The striped top didn’t fit my shoulders correctly and the quality was lacking. The Calson basic tee in white is too heathered and see through for my liking. I don’t always want to wear an extra layer under shirts, but if you do then you won’t mind this!
Good American Jeans: This was my first try on of Good American jeans. They are darker but look like the AG jeans with the same raw hem at the ankle. My one complaint is I don’t love the button design and the front pocket is too small. I know that’s being picky, but when you’re buying jeans at Nordstrom they need to check all the boxes. Size down in these if you want to give them a try.
Leith Cardigan: My store didn’t have my size, but this medium swallowed me up! I would probably order a size down in this and get an XS. It’s a little more than the BP cardigan ($45) but the quality is definitely better.
BP Tee: I bought this green basic tee ($12) and I went up to a medium for an oversized look. It’s very soft and I like the longer sleeve length and rounded v-neck.

Halogen Bell Sleeve Knit Top: This one was clearly a fail for me. The small fit me horribly around the waist and the sleeves were too long.
Wayf Knot Front Top: This top is too plunging and loose for me in the chest but I barely fit into the small around my waist. I think the print is very pretty and it would look nice on others, but I don’t have the body for it!

Barefoot Dreams Cardigan: The fact that I’m sharing these photos on the internet means we are on a whole new level of friendship here. But I don’t want you to pick the wrong item from Barefoot Dreams! I’ve raved about them and thought they could do no wrong, but this cardigan is definitely a miss for me. It’s too oversized and sloppy looking to wear out, but too expensive to justify as a house cardigan. Get this one instead!
Items I already own in the sale and love
Items still on their way
Items I’m returning
Before you go
I always overbuy during this sale then I decide what to keep and what to return. I’ve learned the hard way if I wait to decide what I really want, items I want always sell out! I don’t want you to see these large hauls on YouTube and thousands of dollars in outfit posts on Instagram and feel less than because you can’t afford it all. A lot of bloggers buy a ton of pieces from the sale to shoot outfits and try on hauls for their content but will end up returning what they don’t actually want. Don’t put yourself in financial trouble to keep up with the Instagram hustle! Look at your closet and see what pieces you’ll get the most wear out of. For me, that is always basics – plain tees, cardigans, scarves, and flats I can wear to work or on the weekend, and a good pair of jeans. I also save up all my gift cards from the year (birthday, credit card or work reward points, etc) and Nordstrom Notes for this sale specifically because I spend the most on my fall wardrobe and love falls cozy style. The sale will be back again next year, so save up for what you didn’t get this go round – xoxo
Thanks for reading! My posts have been very long this week but I have really enjoyed writing them for you! I did upload a try on video to my Youtube channel if you want to see more about how pieces fit before you place your order. Although for this sale it’s always better to buy and return because items go so fast!
